More Memos about Kamsky-Topalov

| Permalink | 5 comments

Blogging from bed on my G1 so I'll keep this brief for now. FIDE prez Ilyumzhinov has issued a stern memo and another deadline, today, for Kamsky's manager to make $935,000 appear for the Lvov bid. Or else he's going back to the Bulgarians. Didn't Ilyumzhinov personally guarantee the Lvov match fund? Must have been another Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.

One had hoped that Bessel Kok working with FIDE Commerce would attract corporate sponsorship to FIDE events and make Iiyumzhinov's personal patronage less important.
It would be a shame if the Topalov-Kamsky match falls through because the momemntum of the A-K match could not be sustained.

As this is just a qualifying event does it really matter if it doesen't attract a large prizefund? Can't they just hold it in Elista or a coffee shop after-hours? What is the point of all these negotiations?

coffee shop is where you play chess with your friends.

The main issue was that it was going to take place in Sofia, on Topalov's home turf. That's usually last resort and Kamsky wanted to make sure every possible alternative was attempted. This bid from Ukraine has been a mirage so far and things need to move forward if it's going to happen at all. My high school history teacher used to say, "consider the composition of the word "deadline" very carefully."

I don't really like to turn to various corporations to resolve my problems. Nonetheless, I am not an expert in seo thus I should tell forum proifles services to help me.
